This picture of the greenies probably shows best how deep and startling the green colour is on the head.

These are noisy miners, also known as mickeys, or happy families, because of their habit of constantly squabbling and bickering amongst themselves!! These little fellows give my cats a very hard time, swooping and attacking them!! Lovely little bird with a speckled appearance in grey and a lovely black and yellow area around the eye.
Here is a greenie in full flight - they are not as bright and colourful as the rainbow lorikeet - until you see the plumage under the wing !
Now you can see the reason for the name of the tree - it looks just likes the spokes of an umbrella when in flower!
